Howard Eaton Reservoir (aka Bull’s Dam)

Howard Eaton Reservoir, constructed in1941, is a man-made dam on a tributary to the West Branch of French Creek. It was created to supply water to North East Borough. Since 2004, North East Borough has been utilizing lake Erie for close to 95% of the water needed.

Eaton Reservoir is located in both North East and Greenfield Townships and is approximately 246 acres. The land is owned and maintained by North East Borough. The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission regulates the area.

There is a 3 mile trail around the reservoir, for walking, running, walking your dogs(on leashes), riding bicycles or riding horses. There are two boat ramps, one off of Ashton Road and the other off of State Line Road. Only electric motor boats, kayaks or canoes are permitted. It is a great fishing area for large mouth bass and pike.
